Keppel Konnections sells through an online booking site, which lists one-way transfers in each direction at a 'from' price of $55. The breakdown by passenger type appears only after choosing a departure, which we did not do, so adult and child prices are not separated here. Return tickets are valid on any departure on any day, subject to space, if you amend your booking first. Day-trip packages include the ferry, a meal and a drink. Dogs travel for $5 (small) or $10 (large). Keppel Ferry Co, which took over Freedom Fast Cats' ferry, has published no fares. All fares in Australian dollars (AUD).
Two names come up when you search for the Great Keppel Island ferry. Freedom Fast Cats, which ran daily transfers from Rosslyn Bay for more than 27 years, now says on its own website that those ferry transfers and tours are operated by Keppel Ferry Co, and that it has turned to vessel charter and leasing. Keppel Ferry Co's site was still marked 'under construction' on 15 October 2026, with a phone number and email but no timetable or fares. Capricorn Enterprise, the regional tourism body, reported in September 2026 that Keppel Ferry Co is being set up by the local owners of Keppel Konnections and the Great Keppel Island Hideaway after buying Freedom Fast Cats' island ferry operations; the operators' own pages do not say so yet. This page follows the only published timetable, Keppel Konnections', and the service may be renamed or expanded.
Keppel Konnections describes itself as locally owned and operated and sails from the Red Jetty at Keppel Bay Marina, 1 Waterline Way, in Rosslyn Bay Harbour. Its timetable shows three departures every day, at 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., with returns from the island at 8:10 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. A 5:45 p.m. out and 7:15 p.m. back run on Fridays, but the operator says those late ferries may not run every week.
The operator gives the crossing as about 30 minutes, though its booking site shows roughly 35 minutes out and 45 minutes back. There is no jetty on Great Keppel: the boat is driven onto Fisherman's Beach and the ramp goes down onto the sand. The operator warns that wheelchair users would most likely need to be carried ashore.
Check in at the ticket shed 30 minutes before departure. Boarding starts 10 minutes before, and the boat cannot wait for late arrivals. The marina car park is free but not secured, and the Route 20 Youngs bus stops outside the marina terminal.
Each passenger can bring a 23 kg bag and a carry-on, and an esky up to 40 litres. Dogs are welcome on the island and pay $5 or $10. The island is not a national park, so day visitors are welcome. One-way transfers start from $55, and day trips with lunch from $80.
Arrive at the terminal a few minutes before departure; vehicle boarding usually closes earlier.
Check the operator's service alerts before travelling — weather, tides and river levels affect services.
Confirm accepted payment methods and whether a booking is required for vehicles.

Keppel Konnections runs a ferry from Keppel Bay Marina and publishes a timetable and booking site. Freedom Fast Cats' website says its Great Keppel Island ferry transfers and tours are now operated by Keppel Ferry Co, whose own site had no timetable or fares on 15 October 2026. Capricorn Enterprise reported in September 2026 that Keppel Ferry Co comes from the owners of Keppel Konnections and the Hideaway.
Keppel Konnections leaves Keppel Bay Marina daily at 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., with a 5:45 p.m. on Fridays that may not run every week. Return sailings leave the island at 8:10 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The operator says about 30 minutes. Its booking site lists about 35 minutes from the marina to the island and about 45 minutes back to the marina. The boat lands on Fisherman's Beach.
From the Red Jetty at Keppel Bay Marina, 1 Waterline Way, Rosslyn Bay Harbour. Turn off the scenic highway towards Rosslyn Bay Harbour, take the first exit at the mini roundabout, and check in at the ticket shed. Free but unsecured parking is at the marina.
Yes. The operator says booking is required, though there may still be space on the day and its reception, open 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., takes last-minute enquiries. Your return ticket works on any departure on any day if you change it with the operator first.
One 23 kg bag plus a carry-on per passenger, and eskies up to 40 litres. Dogs travel for $5 (small) or $10 (large) because the island is not a national park.
The timetable lists a 7:15 p.m. return on Fridays, but says Friday late ferries may not run every week, and the FAQ gives 6:20 p.m. Book it in advance and confirm with the operator before relying on it.
