All fares are return, and every passenger, including the driver, travels free; only vehicles, motorcycles and bicycles are charged. These are the visitor fares the operator published for the structure that began on Monday 28 September 2026: two tiers, Regular and Saver (Super Saver was dropped). The Regular fare is shown twice, because the operator publishes a higher peak-season Regular rate for December 2026 to April 2027 and returns it to the standard rate from May 2027; the fare charged is the one in force when the vehicle reaches the ticket booth. Saver fares are not affected by peak-season pricing, and neither are resident or landowner fares. The fares page also lists higher rates for vehicles wider than 3.0m, which are not reproduced here. All fares in Australian dollars (AUD).
The Bruny Island Ferry carries vehicles and passengers between Kettering, on the D'Entrecasteaux Channel about 35 minutes' drive south of Hobart, and Roberts Point at the northern end of Bruny Island. The crossing takes around 20 minutes. The operator's website now trades as Island Connections Bruny Island, and the old sealink.com.au address redirects to it, though the summer timetable PDF is still SeaLink-branded and Transport Tasmania, which oversees the contract, still names SeaLink Travel Group. The ferry runs 365 days a year, including public holidays.
There is no seat reservation. The ferry works on a queueing system, so a pre-purchased ticket buys a place on the next available sailing, not a fixed departure time, and it stays valid for 365 days. Every passenger and driver travels free; only the vehicle, motorcycle or bicycle is charged, and every fare is a return fare with an open return, so there is no one-way price.
The summer timetable is valid from Monday 28 September 2026. On weekdays the first sailing is 6:10am from Kettering and 6:30am from Roberts Point, and the last is 7:00pm and 7:15pm. Saturdays start at 6:30am from Kettering, and on Sundays that sailing and the 6:50am from Roberts Point do not run. The timetable prints no end date, so this page does not guess when it changes.
Visitor fares were reorganised on the same date. Super Saver went, leaving Regular and Saver, with Saver sold only at designated sailing times. Regular fares then rise for peak season: the operator lists December 2026 to April 2027 at a higher rate, then back to the standard rate from May 2027. Resident and landowner fares are unchanged. Two purpose-built single-deck vessels, MV Nairana and MV Parrabah, work the route, and Transport Tasmania lists a third vessel as well. The terminal on the mainland side is at Ferry Road, Kettering, and the island terminal is off Lennon Road, North Bruny.
