Every Fremantle fare here includes the Rottnest Island admission fee, which the Rottnest Island Authority sets and the ferry companies collect at booking: adult or student $21.50 for a single day and $28.50 for an extended stay; child (4 to 16) $11.00 and $14.50; family group $57.00 and $75.00; none for under 4s. Those fees are valid 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027. The Rottnest Express table prints a passenger fare, the admission fee and a total, and the totals are used below; its fares are valid to 30 June 2027 and it says its best rates are for advance booking on select services. The one-way trip from Rottnest carries no admission fee. SeaLink prints 'from' fares (valid 1 July 2026 to 31 March 2027) and says they vary with demand and time of travel; two of them are listed here as non-headline lines. Fares for Rottnest Express from Perth, and any package fares, are not listed. All fares in Australian dollars (AUD).

Two ferry companies run the half-hour crossing from Victoria Quay in Fremantle to Rottnest Island. This page's timetable board belongs to Rottnest Express, which sails from the B Shed terminal at 1 Peter Hughes Drive and also from Northport at Rous Head; SeaLink Rottnest Island has its own timetable and fares and leaves from O'Connor Landing, also on Victoria Quay. The two are separate bookings. Rottnest Express does not use a weekly pattern. Its timetable page lists the sailings date by date, and the lists change from one day to the next. On Thursday 22 October 2026 it showed six departures from B Shed starting at 7:30 a.m. and finishing at 4:00 p.m.; for Christmas Day it shows three. This page loads those date-specific lists for each day from 21 October 2026 to 31 January 2027, and those are the B Shed calls only. Some sailings start at Northport and call at B Shed on the way, and are included; direct Northport and Perth sailings are not. Every Fremantle fare includes the island admission fee, which the Rottnest Island Authority sets and ferry companies collect at booking: $21.50 for an adult on a single-day visit and $28.50 for an extended stay, valid to 30 June 2027. On the Rottnest Express table a same-day adult return is $66.00 plus $21.50, which is $87.50 in all. The operator says fares are valid until 30 June 2027, and also says its best rates are for early booking. SeaLink prints its Fremantle fares as 'from' prices and says they vary with demand. B Shed is being redeveloped by Fremantle Ports, a $30 million project the operator expects to finish in August 2028. Meanwhile the kiss-and-ride area at O'Connor Landing is closed, drop-off has moved to the E Shed car park, and Rottnest Express asks passengers to arrive 45 to 60 minutes before departure. Fremantle Traffic Bridge works add road changes nearby. Northport has a private car park of around 400 bays and can only be reached by car.
  • Arrive at the terminal a few minutes before departure; vehicle boarding usually closes earlier.
  • Check the operator's service alerts before travelling — weather, tides and river levels affect services.
  • Confirm accepted payment methods and whether a booking is required for vehicles.
